soak the edge
The inside of thought is where everything teems and stirs with a thousand cracks is where the water meets the shore like threads pulled taut that soak the edge

I'm curious about the arrows here: are they for direction while sketching, or something else?
[for direction while sketching]
that's a good way to describe it...I can't really explain them since they are ideosyncratic, like the lines shooting out of the eyes on some of my faces...sometimes I draw them to show the angle of potentially moving parts...I try to imagine what sequence of movements might follow this pose and how the body might shift weight to move immediately out of it...but it also has to do with the angle of the underlying bones, as if I could see through the skin
...I guess [direction] is the best way to say it...
