may I ask the relevance of [gradated line]?

[gradated line]...his phrase...something I have never forgotten, how his figure drawings exemplified an undulating quality of line that was exquisite, a former mentorly instructor, wonderful draughtsman, painter with a thick scottish brogue...when I recently found that print I had been previously searching for, I also learned that this retired professor was probably ill...so I have since been thinking of how some people give you intangibles that spring from the very essence of who they are, that stay with you...I still hear his voice in my head when I draw...

does that explain it?

that does explain it ... like a grammar teaching asking me if it was 'better to be correct or interesting?' ... the essense of him, and of the lesson.
